After a long and exhausting bus trip, we reached the city of Puno on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca and, after having walked across the border between Peru and Bolivia, we reached Copacabana. From here, at 3800 meters above sea level, despite the tiredness and malaise due to the altitude, we decided to arrive at the famous Isla del Sol, the main island in Lake Titicaca, sacred to the ancient Inca. Here the landscape is really incredible too. Despite the height, the flora around us recalls our coastal areas, with the difference that the background of the lake stand the majestic and incredible peaks of the Cordillera Real Boliviana which exceed abundantly 6000 meters high. The view from one of the highest “hills” of Isla del Sol, at about 4000 meters above sea level, is really incredible at sunset and when everything catches fire, the spectacle is truly priceless.

Dopo un lungo ed estenuante viaggio in autobus, raggiungiamo la città di Puno sulla sponda peruviana del Lago Tititcaca e, dopo aver attraversato a piedi la frontiera tra Perù e Bolivia, raggiungiamo quindi Copacabana. Da qui, a 3800 mt slm, nonostante la stanchezza ed il malessere dovuto all’altura, decidiamo di raggiungere la famosa Isla del Sol, isola principale del lago Titicaca e sacra agli antichi Inca. Il paesaggio anche qui è davvero incredibile. Nonostante l’altezza, la flora che ci circonda ricorda non poco le nostre zone costiere, con la differenza che sullo sfondo del lago si stagliano i maestosi ed incredibili picchi della Cordillera Real Boliviana, che superano abbondantemente i 6000 mt di altezza. La vista da una delle “colline” più alte dell’ Isla del Sol, a circa 4000 mt slm, è davvero incredibile e quando al tramonto tutto prende fuoco, lo spettacolo è davvero impagabile.
